Cisco Networking


 Haven't yet made a plan for this page so will edit at a later time. I'm putting aside my PHP and javascript studies after completing CodeSchool's Try jQuery course because I found that the complexity of my online project is going to be too much for one developer to make and I need a career, prior work experience/history to even gain an interview. Seems like my resume is quickly thrown into the trash and with it goes my dream occupation in network engineering.
 Currently have CCENT and CCNA certifications and am studying for CCNP (on the Routing exam study material at the moment, the Switch and Troubleshooting to follow). Since I have PacketTracer, GNS3, WireShark, and two Cisco Routers and two Cisco switches, I will probably post various designs and configurations to share my experiences. I've taken a look at the Juniper's JNCA exam and command lines to configure. Not sure how valuable it would be for me to move to that platform quite yet. I may consider pursuing those certifications after CCIE or CCNP, if I think it would help me to get my foot in the door to I.T. field. I heavily contemplated whether to go for CCNP or Microsoft MCITP/MCSE and feel that the Microsoft certifications would be expensive and not valuable enough for network engineer. I may be wrong on this though, and, if after, the CCNP I still can not find a position any where in the U.S., I may try network administration.

Fix for MagicDisc driver mcdbus.inf not signed

To get mcdbus to install on Windows 8 and below (all systems, x86 and x64)  Windows prevents the installation of drivers that are not Digitally Signed as a security measure. Since MagicDisc is freeware and they have not signed the driver, you must turn off driver signature enforcement and restart.  Right click on Command Prompt and choose "Run as Administrator"  Copy and paste or type these lines one at a time, hitting Enter after each line:     bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS     bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON  Restart the computer.  If you have not already downloaded and installed MagicDisc, do so before proceeding from here.  Run Regedit and go to HKLM\LocalMachine\CurrentControlSet\services\ and right click on services folder, choose New -> String and name it mcdbus and click OK.   Download this zip file and extract contents. Fix Woozone Import Synchronization test fails at Step 1

The problem may be an easy fix for you as it was for me! Turns out that I had entered my Amazon AWS credentials into their appropriate boxes under Amazon config tab and hit the Save button. I knew the information was correct because I had copied and pasted from my AWS console directly. How ever, that is the wrong way to do it because Woozone won't work unless you hit the Test button and it shows Success. Then you hit Save button. And go back to server status and check import synchronization test again. It passes Step 1 now.
